DIY Turtle Raft

Make a floating turtle raft for your backyard pond! Find a piece of old carpeting or several textured welcome mats and cut pieces of scrap wood or plywood to the same size as the carpet square. Assemble the wood boards into a platform with pieces of tile holding the boards together and attach the carpeting or textured floor mats to the top of the basking platform. Cut two piece of Styrofoam the same length as the raft and nail the Styrofoam to either side of the raft. Attach an eyelet hook to the bottom of the raft, tie a long rope to the hook and knot the rope to a brick, rock or other heavy anchor.
