DIY Parrot Target Training

Teach your bird to use a target stick! Get a chopstick, wood dowel or other natural wood stick. Hold one end of the stick and put the other end near the front of your pet’s beak. Try to get your pet to touch the stick with their beak, then immediately reward them with a treat and praise or a clicker sound. If your bird is afraid of the stick, set the stick near your bird and reward your bird whenever if moves closer to the stick, then again when it touches the stick. Once your part has learned to touch the stick with its beak for a treat, use the stick to teach your pet other tricks.
