DIY Outdoor Hamster Garden

Create an outdoor area for your hamsters! Get a wood table or build one to the desired size. Attach wood beams around the sides of the table to create a basket area. Cover the table with several layers of cardboard, then seed compost, and sprinkle some chinchilla sand on top. Wrap a piece of wire mesh over the table to create a dome, fold either end of the mesh under the table, and staple the mesh in place. Cut half-circles of the mesh to cover either side of the dome and attach them in place. Cut three sides of a square in either side of the mesh to use as a doorway and fasten the door shut with extra wire or cable ties. Cover each side of the garden with a second layer of mesh if needed to protect your hamster from predators. Cut a hole in one side of the mesh and attach one end of a sewage pipe in the hole. Cut a piece of wood to fit in a window frame, cut a hole in the wood, and attach the other end of the pipe through the pole. Attach the end of the pipe indoors to your hamster’s cage, and plant hamster-friendly seeds in the soil.
